Strong Performances Lead Ragin' Cajuns At Jaguar Invitational

Woodhouse continues record-setting season with top throw in women's weight throw
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Tisay Woodhouse broke her own school-record in the women's weight throw for the third time this season, posting a first-place finish with a mark of 61-5 ¾ and the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns track and field team picked up strong performances on Sunday at the Jaguar Invitational at the Birmingham CrossPlex.
Beau Robinson earned a first-place finish in the men's 3,000-meters, clocking a time of 8:32.04 with Stanley Limoh (800-meters), Tyler Hughes (60-meter hurdles) and Dominique Williams (weight throw) each recording second-place finishes in their respective events.
Woodhouse outdueled Georgia State's Rashell Reid, who posted a throw of 61-3 ½ on her first attempt, during the afternoon before fouling on four of her final five attempts. Woodhouse surpassed Reid on her fourth attempt, setting her third indoor school-record in the event this season while remaining second in the league in the event.
Limoh recorded a time of 1:55.73 in the men's 800-meters to finish second overall for Louisiana with Hughes finishing second overall in the men's 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.12. Williams led Louisiana to a 2-3 finish in the men's weight throw, posting a mark of 58-8 with Richard Delphin finishing third at 58-2 ½.
Sven Glueck (6-9) and Damon Guidry (6-7) posted a 3-4 finish for the Ragin' Cajuns in the men's high jump with freshman Kameron Cummings placing fourth overall in the triple jump (42-9 ½). Shaquillle Singuineau placed sixth overall for Louisiana in the men's shot put (49-9) with Dylan Heck finishing fourth in the 5,000-meter run (15:59.90) and Jonathan Kimutai fourth (8:39.91) in the 3,000-meter run.
Lindsay LaGarde led a contingent of five Ragin' Cajuns to top-16 finishes in the women's 1-mile run as she finished sixth overall in 5:00.42.
Louisiana will wrap up the indoor season Feb. 19-20 when it returns to Birmingham to compete at the Sun Belt Conference Indoor Championships at the Birmingham CrossPlex.
