Cajuns will face Sun Devils in Labor Day Weekend battle in Tempe

LAFAYETTE – Football officials from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and Arizona State University announced on Friday an agreement to a playing date for the 2021 season.

Louisiana and Arizona State, a member of the Pac-12 Conference, will meet on Sept. 4, 2021 at Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe. The Labor Day Weekend meeting will be the second between the schools with the previous contest played on Oct. 6, 2001.

"This gives us another very good, competitive game against an opponent that we have not played in a long time," Louisiana Director of Athletics Scott Farmer said. "With the game being played on Labor Day Weekend, it's a great opportunity for our fans to take advantage of the long weekend and support our team in a great part of the country."

The game against the Sun Devils is the second non-conference contest on the 2021 schedule for the Ragin' Cajuns, who will host Ohio on Sept. 18, 2021.
