"Kickoff And Crawfish" Scheduled For Ragin' Cajuns Spring Game

Introduction to Priority Points system; kids activities, Tillman book signing, QB challenge, music part of festivities
LAFAYETTE – Plenty of activities will take place as part of Ragin' Cajuns Weekend when the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns football team concludes spring practice with the annual Red-White Spring Game on Saturday, April 16 at Cajun Field.
The spring game will begin at 2 p.m. and admission to the game is free. Fans attending will receive a 2016 schedule card and ticket brochure.
The day will begin at 9:30 a.m. when the Ragin' Cajuns Athletic Foundation (RCAF) holds a membership Call Out Meeting at Angelle Hall where an introduction of the new Priority Points System will be given.
Pre-game activities at Cajun Field begin at noon starting with a Crawfish Boil Fundraiser, benefiting the RCAF. The event, sponsored by Crawfish Time, Richard Farms and Comtech Home Systems of Louisiana, is $20 per person and includes corn and potatoes.
Additional food stations, finger printing stations, fun jumps and a live DJ will be on hand around Cajun Field from 12-2 p.m., with live music, featuring Lafayette's Bayou Boys, being played on the Oak Tree Band Stage adjacent to Gate A from 3:30 – 5:30 p.m.
Beginning at 1 p.m., fans can also meet Ragin' Cajuns Hall of Fame member Charles "Peanut" Tillman as he participates in a book signing for his new book, The Middle School Rules of Charles "Peanut" Tillman: Real Life, Real Lessons, Real Inspiration. The former Ragin' Cajun and current member of the NFL's Carolina Panthers will be at Barnes and Noble (5705 Johnston St.) at 10 a.m., before holding a second signing at Cajun Field.
The Ragin' Cajuns will split into teams and will play 10-minute quarters with traditional scoring. At halftime, former Ragin' Cajuns quarterbacks Jerry Babb, Jake Delhomme, Michael Desormeaux, Nathan Granger, Brian Mitchell and Don Wallace will take part in a quarterback challenge.
The renewal process for Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns football season tickets is currently underway and fans are encouraged to renew their tickets for the 2016 season by April 29.
Fans wishing to purchase new season tickets may purchase a non-refundable new season ticket deposit. Fans that do this will be contacted to purchase their ticket prior to the general public. This can be done online at RaginCajuns.com, over the phone at (337) 265-2357 or at the Cajundome Box Office.
Following the April 29th season ticket renewal deadline, the ticket office will process upgrades and any additional requests from season ticket holders.
Season tickets are anticipated to be on sale to the general public on June 1.
Louisiana will host six games at Cajun Field in the 2016 season beginning with a Sept. 3 date against Boise State. The Ragin' Cajuns will host in-state rival McNeese State on Sept. 10 and South Alabama on Sept. 17 before hosting Appalachian State on Wednesday, Oct. 12 in a nationally-televised contest on ESPN2.
The Ragin' Cajuns will host Idaho in the annual Homecoming game on Nov. 5 and will close out the home schedule on Nov. 26 against Arkansas State.
