Nine Scorers Record Personal Bests at Arturo Barrios Invitational for Louisiana

Nine of the team’s 10 scorers recorded personal best times
BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION, Texas - The Louisiana cross country team is ready for the Sun Belt Conference Championships after their final tune-up at the Arturo Barrios Invitational in Bryan-College Station on Friday. Peyton Chiasson and Isabelle Russell led the way again for the Ragin' Cajuns, last time out the duo was named the Sun Belt Conference Runners of the Week.
Chiasson placed 72nd in the 8k event at 23:53.9, a personal best. Following him was Joe Patterson's time of 24:20.5, a personal best, in 121st, and Reece Shelby's 184th at 24:47.1, a personal best. Louden Boudreax, 24:56.2 in 212th, and John Walker McDonald, a personal best 25:11.4 in 237th, rounded out the scorers for the Ragin' Cajuns.
Russell's time of 20:55.9 was good enough to finish 93rd. Ella Segura followed her with a 21:05.7 in 110th and Brooke Spalitta in 148th at 21:34.6. Also scoring for Louisiana was Skylar Delgado in 153rd, 21:37.1, and Chloé Crowell, 22:20.1 in 235th. All five runners for the Cajuns recorded a personal best score.
Solomon Kipchoge of Texas Tech, 22:01.4, took home the men's individual title while leading the Red Raiders to the team title. The Cajun men placed 28th out of 38 teams. Texas Tech also claimed the women's individual title with Juliet Cherubet's time of 18:37.0 but Gonzaga won the team title.
Up next for the Ragin' Cajuns will be the Sun Belt Conference Championships on November 1.
