Women?s Tennis Defeats Tennessee Tech

LAFAYETTE- Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns women's tennis team improved to 8-2 on the year after defeating Tennessee Tech 7-0 on Wednesday.The Cajuns, ranked No. 74 in the latest ITA national poll, only faced Tennessee Tech in four singles matches. The Cajuns won by default at Nos. 5 and 6.
Myrthe Molenveld defeated the Golden Eagles' Margot Carter 7-6, 3-6, 6-3 at No.1, while Laura Martelli topped Marina Ruiz de Guana 6-3, 6-4 at No.2.
Clemence Remy captured a 3-6, 6-2, 6-4 victory over Amy Anstey at No. 3, and
Kimmie Lyles defeated Evgnia Yartseva 6-0, 6-0 at No. 4.
The Cajuns also swept in doubles play. The UL women competed at Nos. 1 and 2
and won by default at No. 3.
Molenveld and Remy defeated Carter and Ruiz de Guana 8-2 at No.1, and Martelli and Lyles topped Anstey and Yartseva 8-2 at No. 2.
The Cajuns will face Austin Peavy State at Cajun Courts on Thursday, March 8. Matches are set to begin at 2 p.m.
