Men?s Tennis Defeats Grambling, 7-0

LAFAYETTE-Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns men's tennis team began their season Sunday at Cajun Courts with a 7-0 win over Grambling State.

In singles action, sophomore Janusz Conradi topped Nicolas Rufyikiri 6-0, 4-6, 10-4 at the No. 1 position, while junior Arlen Domoney defeated Javier Castro 6-1, 6-2 at No. 2.

Sophomore Jorge Delgado bested Victor Semerdjico 6-1, 6-0 at No. 3, and newcomer Stefan Hawkins defeated Jared Evans 6-0, 6-0 at No. 4.

In doubles action, Conradi and Domoney posted an 8-5 win over Rufyikiri and Castro at No. 1. Senior Ryan Hess and partner Delgado topped Semerdjico and Evans 8-1 at No. 2.

The Cajuns will next compete on Thursday, Jan. 31 when they take on Nicholls State at Cajun Courts. The match begins at 1:00 p.m.
