June RCAF Investor of the Month - Tanya Guidry Greenwald
6/5/2025 4:49:00 PM | Athletics, RCAF
Tanya Greenwald was born and raised in Lafayette, Louisiana, and now resides in Maurice. She is the daughter of the late Joseph Guidry, Jr. and Rose Guidry and one of four siblings: Kim Bergeron, Cheryll Henson, and Kyle Guidry. Education runs deep in the family, as Tanya, her parents, and her siblings are all proud graduates of (SLI) USL.
Tanya earned her Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education with honors and spent six years teaching in elementary schools. Her career path eventually led her into human resources, where she began training new employees at a local bank. This sparked a passion for the HR field and opened doors to various roles, including positions at an oil company, her husband's residential construction business, and even running her own bed and breakfast. She also contributed to the operations of a quick-service restaurant.
Among these diverse experiences, Tanya found her most rewarding role as the innkeeper of Alida's, A Bed and Breakfast, where she had the joy of meeting guests from around the world.
One of Tanya's most memorable moments as a Louisiana Athletics supporter was watching the UL baseball team win the Sun Belt Conference Tournament in 2022. Now, she and her husband are eagerly looking forward to a trip to Omaha for the College World Series. In addition to their love for baseball, the couple has become avid supporters of Louisiana women's sports. They are especially excited about the continued growth and success of the volleyball and softball programs and look forward to celebrating future SBC titles.
Tanya's journey as a passionate Cajuns fan began in 2014, when she and her husband were offered tickets to the SBC Tournament and NCAA Regional held in Lafayette - courtesy of her boss, a UL supporter. Being longtime fans of Louisiana baseball, they seized the opportunity and have been season ticket holders ever since. Over the years, they've built lasting friendships with many of the players' families, creating a strong sense of community and camaraderie.
