Ragin' Cajuns jump ahead of West Florida from the start
PENSACOLA, Fla. — The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Women's Tennis team held the lead throughout the match with West Florida on Monday, February 16 at the Ralph "Skeeter" Carson Tennis Complex in Pensacola, Florida, posting a 4-3 victory on the final day of its three-match trek through the Sunshine State.
Louisiana claimed the doubles point and secured singles victories on Courts 1-3 in posting its second consecutive victory. Added to Saturday's 5-2 win over Stetson in Jacksonville, it was a 2-1 finish on the state of Florida road trip.

The Ragin' Cajuns (4-3) took an early 1-0 lead after clinching the doubles point. Angelique Berrat and Nina Krecklenberg won 6-2 at No. 2, while Marilou Bressan and Rocio Navarro matched that score at No. 2. The third doubles match was unfinished.

In singles, Berrat set the tone with a 6-1, 6-4 victory at No. 1 over Carlota Verdu. After West Florida (1-2) claimed its first point of the match by claiming singles No. 4 to trim UL's lead to 2-1, Navarro claimed a straight-sets win, 6-4, 6-2, at No. 3 to add cushion to the Cajuns' match lead.
Martina Della Gora was the next to finish in singles, clinching the dual for Louisiana with a 6-7 (4-7), 6-3, 6-4 comeback at No. 2 over the Argonauts' Aline Midori Da Silva.

The Ragin' Cajuns venture in the state of Texas begins on Thursday, February 26 with a 10:00 a.m. match against UT Arlington at the UTA Tennis Center.
The next day it's a high noon meeting with Houston before the Ragin' Cajuns return to Cajun Courts on March 1 to face Norfolk State.
