Ragin' Cajuns wrap up home schedule against rival Trojans

LAFAYETTE – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Women's Soccer team closes out its 2020 home schedule on Thursday when it plays host to Little Rock in a Sun Belt Conference match at the Ragin' Cajuns Track/Soccer Facility.

Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. Live stats for the match will be available at CajunStats.com.

Louisiana (8-3-0, 4-2-0 SBC) closes out its home schedule looking to extend its school-record win streak to seven matches. The Ragin' Cajuns notched a 2-0 shutout victory at ULM in their last contest and extending their school-record streak of not allowing a goal to 602 minutes.

Lizzie Mayfield (5 goals, 5 assists) and Una Einarsdottir (4 goals, 2 assists) lead Louisiana's offensive attack with a defensive unit, led by All-Conference defender Gwen Mummert holding opponents to a 0.54 goals against average on the season.

Louisiana claimed a 2-0 victory over Little Rock (2-5-1, 2-3-1 Sun Belt) on Oct. 9 behind goals from Mummert and Mayfield. Freshman Lauryn Starwood – the Sun Belt Conference leader in goals against average (0.15) – stopped eight shots in the match as Little Rock held an 18-12 advantage in shot attempts.

The Ragin' Cajuns Track/Soccer Facility will operate at a significantly reduced capacity for the 2020 season (unless state policy changes during the season). This will allow for fans and University students to be accommodated this season.

Should disruptions or modifications to the 2020 season occur due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Department of Athletics will quickly communicate the adjustments through its social media channels and RaginCajuns.com. Additionally, the department will communicate any changes to specific entry and attendance protocols for home matches.

In the interest of public safety and following the National Center for Spectator Sports Safety and Security (NCS4) Best Practices Guide, the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Athletics Department is implementing a clear bag policy at all venues that host ticketed events effective with the 2020-21 competition season. Information about the clear bag policy can be found by visiting www.RaginCajuns.com/clearbag.
