NEW ORLEANS - The Louisiana cross country team is prepped to open the 2025 season by running at the Battle for New Orleans on Friday, August 27.
Friday's festivities get going at 5:15 p.m. with the women's 4K, followed by the men's 5K, 30 minutes later. Seven schools are scheduled to run with host New Orleans, Dillard, LSU, South Alabama, Southeastern, Southern Miss, and Xavier joining the Ragin' Cajuns.
The Ragin' Cajuns return a strong core in 2025. Coming off a strong outdoor distance season, Isabelle Russell, Skylar Delgado, Juliana Courville, and Caroline Spalitta return to lead Louisiana. On the men's side, veterans Peyton Chiasson, John Walker McDonald, and Reece Shelby are back and joined by East Carolina transfer Henry Lyon.
